3. Gaining Trust: Once contacted, the scammer will attempt to build trust, often through manipulative and convincing responses.
   
4. Requesting an Investment: Eventually, the victim is asked to invest in the DEBRA CRAWSHAW Trading Program, with the promise of astonishing returns.

How the ARP44K Scam Works

First, it starts with a YouTube comment:

All of the thousands of upvotes are from bot accounts.

You’ll see these comments pop up on all kinds of videos, but they especially target newly released, mega-popular videos — ESPECIALLY videos from content creators in the financial niche or cryptocurrency niche.

Again, the comments are by bots, and the upvotes are from bots. They aren’t from real people.

When you google search or search on YouTube for the phrase “ARP44K” only one result comes up. This post from a fake “news” YouTube channel “CoinMarketCap -News”

The video directs you to a website. I won’t link the website here, because it’s a 100% scam site, and I don’t want anyone accidentally clicking on it and buying from it. But this is what it looks like:

You may be surprised that the coin “ARP44K” is not mentioned on this website. This is because every day the bots create a new ticker for the fake token. Here are more of them:

AZT44R
APC44T
ZRA55T
AMR90X
AMC953
WEA44T
ZTA33X
etc, etc.

Every few days, these scammers spin up about a dozen new fake crypto names and videos. After a few weeks, they’ll take the videos down and replace them with new ones.

Look, these were all spun up in the last few weeks:

They are all using the name “Amazon” to convince you that it’s a great opportunity. Imagine if Amazon launched their own token, and you could buy it for cheap! Of course, Amazon has nothing to do with this; it’s a complete scam.

So what happens if you actually try to buy ARP44K?

Nothing happens.

You lose ALL of your money.

You don’t even get a worthless token. You just sent your money to someone else and received nothing in return.

And because you sent cryptocurrency to their wallet, there’s nothing you can do to get the money back.

After purchasing, they will try to get you to purchase more and more, offering bonuses or discounts. It’s all fake. Any money you send them will be gone.

Again, sending ANY cryptocurrency to this address will just throw your money away.

Also, if you enter in your email anywhere on their website, they will continue to harass you to buy more and try to scam you out of even more money. They’ll also sell your email to other scammers in order to make more money. Just don’t do it!

Just so we’re clear:

• Do not send any money or crypto
• Do not connect any crypto wallet to any of their websites
• Do not enter in any personal info or your email address

Are there any 1000x opportunities out there in crypto?

Yes, but you’re better off ignoring them.

The best way to invest in cryptocurrencies is to buy a large, well-established cryptocurrency like Bitcoin or Ethereum. You have the highest likelihood of keeping your money rather than losing it.

Some people hear this advice, and they ignore it. They want to risk their money and chase larger returns. Bitcoin and Ethereum won’t multiply by 1000x — their marketcaps are already too large. They are addicted to the idea of buying something for $1,000 and it going to $1,000,000.

The only 1000x gains I’ve seen in crypto today have been through buying a one-in-a-million alt coin early (which is incredibly difficult, since most new coins go to zero) and through leveraged trading (also incredibly difficult.)

With both of these strategies, you have a chance to lose everything. It’s high risk, high reward. You have to make the right play and get the timing correct, and sell at the right time.

Trade with leverage instead. You’ll at least have a chance of making money.

We think leveraged trading is the better of these two options. Yes, you still risk it going to zero, but if you get lucky and anticipate where the market is going, you can get huge gains. You also don’t need insider info about altcoins, because by the time you hear about an altcoin, it’s too late.

There are legitimate exchanges out there like Binance and Bybit that allow leveraged trading and will give you bonuses when you sign up. Better to risk it trading, and hopefully make some money, than just give your money away to scammers.

Don’t fall for the Paidverts Scam!

Paidverts supposedly pays you to watch advertisements. If you’re an advertiser, you can pay them to have people watch your ads. Makes sense, right?

So why is it a scam?

Paidverts is notorious for “debt swapping,” which is basically trades the money you were supposed to earn with worthless credits. Here’s another way to put it:

1. You can pay Paidverts to have their users watch your ad.
2. Real people watch your ad.
3. Paidverts KEEPS THE MONEY and instead gives out worthless “credits” to the people who watched your ad.

In short, this is a great strategy for the guy who created Paidverts. It’s a terrible strategy for you if you’re watching their ads to make money.

The worst thing about this is that they’ve done this unexpectedly. You think you’re going to earn real cash, and they swap it out with their “credits” before you can deposit the cash into your account.

What to do if you’ve been scammed

Unfortunately there isn’t a whole lot you can do. You can take them to small claims, but good luck there. Read their terms of service, and you’ll find that it should protect them entirely.

According to a third-party site, Paidverts is worth 1.3 million dollars. That’s a good amount of money they’ve scammed out of people. The best way to get back at them is to just keep telling people not to use them and not to pay for ads on their platform.

WARNING: Paidverts has many affiliate sites claiming to be legitimate views, telling you that you’ll make money with Paidverts and that they pay out properly. Do not listen to these reviews! These reviewers make money when you sign up for an account.

Unfortunately, as I’ve said above, there are a ton of fake reviews shilling for Paidverts. These are affiliates that get paid when you sign up! Do not trust them! We have many, many reports of “debt swapping” to confirm that they will not pay you correctly. You will have your cash earnings traded in for worthless tokens.

What we recommend instead:

At Scambust, we’ve found most people to have success with online surveys. Online surveys are relatively simiple, and if you know the right websites, they pay out properly and on time.

Why Clickworker is a scam. *Updated: 2016 review*

At ScamBust, we don’t like to say services that actually pay you money online are scams. In fact, Clickworker really does pay you money for completing tasks such as writing jobs, data entry, and more. It’s similar to Amazon’s Mechanical Turk.

The reason why we unfortunately have to call it out for being a scam is because of a serious and rampant problem that is affecting Clickworker accounts.

Unfortunately, when you use Clickworker, you will start to earn credits to be paid, and then before you’re paid out, they will delete your account.

Here’s an all-to-common experience with Clickworker:

But then it happened… one day I tried to log in to Clickworker and my account got deleted. After 6 days of fighting with tech support over facebook I finally got a reply back via email stating that my account was marked as a spamming account. So I got 0 dollars from them. All my jobs got canceled because I was apparently spamming on purpose (I really wasn’t).

Clickworker earns the right to terminate your account at any time. They say this is to block spammers, so that they can keep the integrity of their service.

Unfortunately, we believe this is also being used to terminate legitimate accounts that are earning money too quickly.

The only way to earn money on Clickworker is to do it so slowly that you won’t trip their sensors and you can stay on their platform. I believe in order to keep their business profitable, they ban a large number of users instead of paying them out.

When your account is terminated on Clickworker, that’s it. Say goodbye. You won’t get paid, even if you’re “owed” the money. It’s simply gone.

Can you get your money if they terminate your account? Answer: No.

If Clickworker decides that you’re a spammer, there is literally no way to save your account. There is no appeal process and no explanation. Just consider the money lost.

The problem with this is that you’ve done actual hard work to provide a service, you expected to be paid, and with the click of a mouse Clickworker simply says “No. We’re keeping this money.”

Of course, spammers and other people who abuse the service should be banned. After reading many, many reports, we have come to the conclusion this is happening far too often, with far too many legitimate accounts.

Yes, some people have been earning money on Clickworker. If you’re desperate for cash, you can give it a try. Just be warned: you could be wasting your time.

It’s hard to find legitimate services that pay you for small tasks online.

We don’t want you wasting your time. Mechanical Turk, from Amazon, is a much better option. You get the Amazon name associated with the service, so you know they have to be legitimate in their practices.

We also recommend the Take Surveys For Cash program, which breaks down many of the best services and teaches you things like how to get paid on time, every time, and how to most efficiently earn money using online surveys.

Whatever you do, unfortunately, we recommend avoiding Clickworker until they are more transparent or less strict with their account termination process. Yes, you can earn money from Clickworker. How the Cutco scam works in 2016 (Updated):

Cutco sells knives. The knives are perfectly fine, but they are significantly overpriced. But it’s their sales tactics and promises of making $18 or more that’s just simply not true.

The way they promote their products is called “vector marketing.” Vector marketing is one of the new names for pyramid schemes that have popped up recently. Another name is MLM, multi-level marketing.

Here’s how it works.

1. You see an ad for an $18/hr easy job. Huge bonuses for top sellers. It seems like a great way to earn good money.
2. You come in for an interview. They tell you how you’re especially qualified and that they have selected you to join.
3. They tell you you need to pay around $100 to go to “training.” This is the first red flag.
4. In training, they explain that you need to contact as many of your friends as possible and sell them overpriced knives. “Cold calling” is not permitted. You simply have to annoy your friends and family. You will get a cut of the commission for each bundle of knives you sell. This is the only way you earn money with Cutco.
5. You start annoying your friends and family. You are basically begging the people that trust you most to buy overpriced knives.

You may not know you’re selling Cutco knives until you’re actually at the interview.

Many people have reported that they didn’t know they were applying to sell Cutco knives until they were actually at the job site for an interview!

The people running these sites are reportedly some of the scummiest people on earth. According to a former Cutco receptionist, the people working there were “comprised of the slimiest, most racist, sexist, assholes I’ve ever met.”

The reason is, these people are preying on young people, out-of-luck people, unemployed people, and people who believe in a vague job ad to make $18/hr.

Tips for spotting this “vector marketing” scam:

1. They promise you a high hourly wage with no experience necessary.
2. They won’t explain exactly what the job entails in the job ad.
3. They spend hours going over testimonials of other sales members during the job interview. If they’re spending a lot of time convincing you it’s a good idea, it’s not a good idea.

“I have an interview scheduled for Cutco. Should I go?”

Hell no. Just stay at home.

Again, if you want to earn some extra money, we recommend taking online surveys. Sure, it’s repetitive work, but at least it pays.

While it is true that the website is a dating site, you can create a free account, and there are real men and women that visit the site, unfortunately it still uses scammy tactics. How so? There are three main complaints with Adult Friend Finder.

1. You can’t message people without a paid account. So it’s not actually free.

2. It is notorious for using fake profiles or for lying about the location and activity of real profiles.

3. It bans accounts for no reason after it has collected your money.

Let’s dive into all three of these complaints, then we’ll take a top level view of Adult Friend Finder and its value.

 

The “fake free” problem

Adult Friend Finder tells you you can create a free account. But a free account is basically worthless. All you can do is see some profiles (which turn out to be fake — see below). 

As they put it, “payment is required for access to any of the site’s interactive features.” That’s absolutely ridiculous. Why would you want an account at a dating site if there are no “interactive features?”

It’s like going to a restaurant that’s promising free food, then saying, “well, you have to pay if you actually want to eat the food!” The idea that the service is free is just to get you in the door. They very quickly start asking for your credit card.

The most common complaint about Adult Friend Finder is that it tricks you to sign up for a premium account by showing you fake profiles of girls you can contact — so long as you sign up!

The girl in Boston? She’s not really in Boston, and she’s not really using Adult Friend Finder.

It’s unclear if Adult Friend Finder is completely lying and creating entirely fake profiles, or if Adult Friend Finder is simply finding the “best of” their site and changing the location of the girl. Either way, the girl is not in your area, and she’s not active. We believe they do a little of both: generating completely fake profiles and altering the details of real profiles.

The point is, why sign up for a service with fake people?

 

The “ban you and take your money” problem

A strange pattern of behavior the site employs is that it bans paid users for no reason whatsoever.

So even if you end up paying for the service, let’s say a year of a premium account, they can ban you after 2 months and take your money!

It’s unclear why this is happening, but banning is so frequent that it’s the number one complaint on watchdog sites like the BBB. Apparently in their terms of service, after you pay them they can tell you to go ahead and fuck off!

I-Doser, on the other hand, promises experiences exactly like drugs. This bold claim really doesn’t make any sense when you think about how brainwave entrainment works.

When you listen to a binaural beat, your brain adjusts to the difference in frequency between the tone and your brainwave frequency. There shouldn’t be anything like the feeling of being on drugs.

OK – so if it’s not like drugs, what is it like to listen to I-Doser? Are the binaural beats especially strong?

 

We Tried It. It Was … Disappointing.

 

We decided to give I-Doser a fair try, even though we knew it wasn’t going to be anything like drugs.

In fact, they have a TON of beats, many of which have nothing to do with drugs, such as Relaxation, Hands Free Orgasm, Fall In Love, Chakras, and more

I decided I would try at least 5 of the premium beats.

We were going to try 3 drugs and 2 beats in the other categories.

• I would listen to the program 30 minutes a day for 4 weeks.
• I would write down how we felt before, during, and after.
• I would also listen to “stock” binaural beats to test their effect.

Two other members of Scam Bust decided to take part as well while I was in the middle of testing.

Between the three of us, we made a small but unbiased test group ready to have our lives changed.

We were vigilant, committed, and, headphones ready, prepared to have our minds blown.

The most disappointing thing was that Hemi-Sync did nothing. 

No one in our test group experienced anything.

Is Simple Pickup A Scam?

The videos seem promising. Simple Pickup shows men saying ridiculous things to women on the street, and they seem to laugh, enjoy it, and even give out their phone numbers.

In other videos they are seen making out with girls almost in seconds.

If you’re a horny guy looking to hook up with women, is Simple Pickup the secret?

Not really.

 

1. They are most successful with drunk women on the street.

Simple Pickup could be called: talk to drunk girls.

One member, Jesse, confessed that the high success rate is due to the fact that “the girls are drunk.” They go to areas lined with bars and purposely target drunk girls.

While interacting with a drunk girl in a playful and ridiculous way on the street can bring you immediate gratification, it doesn’t bring you much more than that. Which leads me to number 2…

 

2. Getting a number doesn’t get you laid.

The biggest problem with Simple Pickup is that it explains how to get numbers. And that’s it.

Their approach is get as many numbers as you can.
